 Ellery Prescott (何家林)

 Ellery

Ellery is from Madison, a small, quaint city in south central Wisconsin just north of Chicago.

In that small city is where Ellery grew up singing and dancing to anything catchy with a beat, from Aretha Franklin to the Beatles to Elvis Presley. He sang from age 5 and began learning guitar at age 10 and was writing songs shortly there after. Through his college career he began singing live in cafes and bars, exploring pop and folk songwriting.

Upon arriving in Taipei Taiwan in 2012, where he has worked and lived for 6 years, he recorded his first debut album, "Right Where I Need to Be" with the talented Liam Frost of Mugen, his then producer and sound engineer. The experience of releasing music independently brought him to an important realization: being successful as an indie artist is tough ass work. From there he continued working hard writing new songs, more deeply understanding music theory, learning how to play the keyboard, and trying out adding some neo-soul flavor into the mix.

After two and half years he had a collection of songs from which he chose the best five to record his latest work, an acoustic EP entitled "One Chance." The piano offered a new sound and style, while not being completely divorced from the sounds of "Right Where I Need to Be."

From a genuine honesty, searching to express his personal story and truth, comes the music as it always has: analogue and real.
