今年受到新冠肺炎疫情的影響，Apple在全球各地的門市開開關關，業績多少受到影響，不過這並沒有讓Apple停下展店的腳步，繼上月底開幕的泰國樹冠屋門市後，全球第 512 家 Apple Store、也是在新加坡的第三間直營店 Apple Marina Bay Sands 便即將與大家見面，它除了是全球首間採用球體設計的 Apple Store，更是 Apple 全球第一間飄浮於水面的直營店！
目前 Apple 在新加坡烏節路和樟宜國際機場分別各有一間直營店，前者於 2017 年開幕，後者位於擁有全世界最高的室內瀑布的重要交通樞紐，而這第三間直營店 Apple Marina Bay Sands，與此前開幕的曼谷 Apple Central World 相同，由英國知名建築事務所 Foster + Partners 操刀，以漂浮在水上的球形造型引發討論熱潮。
Apple Marina Bay Sands 從地理位置來看，算是濱海灣金沙酒店的一部分，消費者可以從高架木板橋和水下通道，進入店內。平時在白天時，Apple Marina Bay Sands 看起來有點像是充滿未來感的太空船或飛行器，停靠在海灣旁，四周大樓的天際線和波光粼粼，在熱情的陽光下，一一反射在玻璃惟幕上；然而到了晚上時，球體就會如同燈籠一樣，散發出溫暖的光芒，而這也是 Apple Marina Bay Sands 設計概念的由來--新加坡中秋節時人手一提的傳統燈籠。在「燈籠」的最上方還開了一個小型天窗，將光線引入室內，從天空俯視而下，就好像凝望著天空的眼睛。

從蘋果官方釋出 Apple Marina Bay Sands 的專屬 logo 可以看到大紅色的蘋果下半部有著水波紋路，彷彿諾大紅霞在海面上漂浮，也象徵著新加坡這間首次坐落於水上的直營店。
